Melinda Wetherington joined the family business as George Sr.’s youngest daughter alongside her brother George Jr. and sister Beth Summey.  She brings with her a wealth of experience and a heart for helping others. As a licensed life and health insurance agent, Melinda is passionate about providing personalized service and building lasting relationships with her clients.

Before joining Refuge Insurance Advisors, Melinda built an extensive background in the medical and healthcare fields. She has worked as a clinical and administrative medical assistant for a neurologist, pediatrician, and a private home health provider. She also held leadership roles at Comfort Keepers, Affinity Hospice, and Tapestry Hospice as a Client Care and Volunteer Coordinator. Most recently, she served as a Senior Analyst - Community Lead Generator with Aetna, a major player in the insurance industry.

Melinda’s professional journey reflects her genuine love for people and her ability to connect with them on a personal level. Her go-getter attitude, problem-solving skills, and commitment to making a positive impact make her an invaluable asset to the Refuge Insurance Advisors team.

Melinda lives in Rydal, GA, with the love of her life Cody, whom she married in November 2022, and their beloved mini long-haired dachshund, Scooter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, taking pictures, traveling, homesteading, game nights, enjoying good food, and sipping on a great cup of coffee. Her faith in Jesus is her foundation, and it inspires her dedication to helping others.
